One can get tested at any government or private hospital, private laboratories, dispensaries, HIV/AIDS centres anywhere in Delhi. The procedure involves taking the blood sample as for any other test and then testing is done with one or more methods as asked by the Physician/Doctor. Generally testing is recommended first after 3 weeks of a possible exposure and if negative its repeated after 3 months. If both are negative then that person is considered free from infection. Although some rare cases are reported positive after 6 months. Different tests take different time. Usually the commonly prescribed tests takes less than 24 hours. There are Rapid antigen test which are almost instant and there are PCR tests that takes 3-4 days. The sensitivity and specificity of these tests are different and so are their costs.
