Metabolism is a chemical process that occurs in the body to sustain life and it varies with diet, age & physical activity. Only crash dieting can cause metabolic damage. If you take fewer calories in diet and avoiding carbohydrates like chapattis, and avoiding enough vegetables & going completely on a protein diet, then it can damage metabolism. Though, It’s very important to bring changes in your food choices and bring lifestyle modifications to achieve desirable changes & to get a healthy life rather than on crash dieting. As it might cause certain deficiencies & weakness in the body which eventually leads to poor health.
